Gateway Psychiatric is recruiting for a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner position in our San Francisco office.
The San Francisco office is in the heart of the exciting Hayes Valley neighborhood.
The job is primarily a clinical position, working with our population of successful professionals with mood disorders. In addition to direct patient care, there is also an opportunity to help develop our primary care screening and referral function and to help improve our collaboration with primary care providers (see this blog post on integrated care for the genesis of this idea).
The nurse practitioner would provide primary mental health care for diverse group of individuals, primarily with either treatment resistant depression, bipolar disorder, or a severe anxiety disorder. He or she would also be part of a team that includes a psychiatrist, a substance abuse expert, and a psychologist as well as an extended network of therapists we collaborate with closely.
A successful candidate would be someone with strong clinical skills, a warm and personable manner, knowledge of the principles of psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and psychiatric care for those with mood disorders, and familiarity and comfort using computerized records systems.
